I'm REI — a songwriter hailing from the warm heart of Africa, Malawi. With roots deeply embedded in the traditional sounds of lokolo, Rei blends this cultural heartbeat with the infectious rhythms of Afro pop and the soulful notes of jazz.

From an early age, Rei immersed himself in the rich musical tapestry of Malawi, and his solo journey reflects a harmonious fusion of tradition and contemporary flair. Notably, Rei is a driving force in the band “Akumudzi”, where his musical alchemy truly shines. Together, they explore the dynamic intersections of lokolo, Afro pop, and jazz, creating a sound that resonates globally.
